LW- Matt Beleskey, $1.6m (2014-2017)

Kinda a weird trade for the Blues to pull the trigger on but we are so cash strapped we wanted to create some cap space. We have Stastny to fill in for Getz as he has been on my bench lately. I love the value for Anaheim to get Getzlaf at a 25 percent discount too. Glad to see the league full with solid, active GM'S

The Ducks agree to trade.
I hated to trade away the 1st round pick but thought with getting Getzlaf in return it was worth the gamble. I get a top 5 or top 10 point scorer in Getzlaf to plug in as a C and move Rakell to LW to take Beleskey's spot. I do get an additional 2nd round pick to make up for trading the 1st rounder. Hopefully Tanev can get healthy and be a serviceable D-man to replace Emelin.
Beleskey and Emelin weren't in the Ducks future plans so the Ducks are happy pack their bags and wave them off to their new team.
This trade was mostly to get Getzlaf to help the Ducks at the C position since he was thin in the middle to go along with the other 2.

P.S. If the trade does get approved the Ducks will be Franchising Getzlaf to get the 25% discount.
