Title: Lightning & Wild trade
Post by: Daddy on October 31, 2016, 05:23:46 PM
Tampa Sends:
C Markus Granlund, $1.5m (2015-2018)
RW J.T. Brown, $0.6m (2015-2017)
LW Mikkel Boedker, $1.5m (2015-2018)
D Matt Hunwick, $1.5m (2015-2018)

Wild send:
Rasmus Ristolainen, $6.0m (2016-2020)

Originally the Bolts wanted Karlsson considering we gave up Nichushkin for Boedker and we always favor depth but that fell through in favor of another deal.

I see us adding an impact blue liner for 4 guys who don't have blue chip pedigree but collectively should out point Risto. It's worth it to us to upgrade the starting 6th  Defender spot.

Thanks for the talks, it's nice to see the Wild making moves for a change.

I think this stinks for the Minny but if that's what the new owner wants I'll wait to see how the rest of the rebuilding comes along.

Agree with PPG. Those 4 players leaving TBL arent the most difficult to replace. Lets face it if thise 4 got hit by a bus no one would notice.

This trade might still get vetoed if Minnesota's cap drops below $54.0m (cap floor) as a result of completing this deal.

Depth is important, even though its not the best value.
