Title: Pittsburgh and Boston make a trade- 7:57A East. 1/19/16

The Red Sox get the veteran support they wanted and dump dead weight Avila. Meanwhile, the Pirates bring in an OF replacement, a backup catcher for 2016, and four prospects to beef up the farm.  We also free up some cap spcae ($1m this year, $5.5m next year, and $7m in 2018).

:BOS: Boston receives
SP Verlander, Justin, $10m (2018) + $3m from Pirates in 2016-18
OF Gomez, Carlos, $2.5m (2016)

:PIT: Pittsburgh receives
C Avila, Alex, $5m (2016)
OF deAza, Alejandro, $1.5m (2017)   
OF Brinson, Lewis, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Varga, Cameron, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Skoglund, Eric, $0.5m (P-n/a)   
SP Gannon, Nolan, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Boston agrees we get Gomez the main piece we feel will be back to numbers to give us a solid OF to make run for this year and next couple.
