This FA closed 48hrs after this posting date
« on: October 08, 2015, 07:57:41 »
Closing date was October 10, 2015 at 07:57am ET

:MON-NHL: Montreal was at 30/30 players on the active roster 24hrs after the closing of FA Brickley since the buyout request to clear a roster spot came with this post at Oct11 19:16pm.

Missed the window by a little over 10hrs.
Strike!

You can't sign Brickley and he goes back into the FA pool. :judge:

I hate this bullCrap rule.  Its a dick rule to be a dick...(no I am not calling you Pigs or PPG dicks)  I would understand more if I held up a process or if this wasnt a week later after I had won the bid and posted the transactions. I get its a rule I just think it is a rule that was created because some GM won a bid and then let it sit for a week or two people bitched so the commissioner at the time instituted this 24hour thing.

We all have lives outside of this and I have never complained about the length of time it takes for a player to be added to my roster or anything like that because I understand no one is getting paid to do this and we have other things going on.  I just dont think if I demanded that players be added to my roster within 24 hours of winning a bid that it would be taken kindly and I would hear a similar argument.

Sorry I am venting on this one today.  Its happened to me twice now on players and both times were over a weekend that I was traveling and I posted my transaction as soon as I could. I just find its a rigid rule for something that has absolutely no effect on the game play or gives someone any type of advantage.

LOL

I know how much you hate that rule. That's why it was tough to lay down the law but funny as hell at the same time.

But you know you can't add players when your roster's already full man. LOL
The 24hrs is a nice to have grace period.

I know you have a life unlike Burke who has time for 3 teams. Sorry BB! :toast:

yes I know I have a full roster but at the same time I play this league with 20+ other dicks that will up a bid in the last hour.
I just find it odd we allow 1 week for a team over cap (ahemm, clear throat) after the season starts that would know they are over cap well beforehand which to me is a far more egregious thing but a mere 24 hours to post a simple drop or roster move.   Why do we allow 48hours for player bids before someone wins them, lets make that 24hours too and a 1 week warning on the over cap...thats bullCrap too , make that 24hour(i am serious on that one,, no joke, 1 week is far too long to give someone that put themselves overvcap intentionally)

Com'on man.

You can't talk your way out of this. :taco:

Full roster = No room to buy a free agent. :judge:
That's simple hockey math.

I really don't expect to talk my way out of that one, but just showing how its a disproportionate penalty/timeline to get compliant compared to other infractions.
You know what is also simple math...... 71.4 - 75.7 = -4.3 = overcap,,, that's simple math :soapbox:.

Do I need to put you in the corner for a 5min timeout.

Snug you realize you did this before right?
Not like the rule took you by surprise.

Own up. You got greedy. Plain and simple. LOL

Yes, i do realize that, that's why it annoys me even more.  Greedy no,,,, sloopy yes.
I am more just messing with at this point.  I take it as a compliment that my team is now scary enough that people cheer when a screw up!!
