Title: Rangers & Blues
Post by: SlackJack on July 06, 2015, 07:21:01 PM
Adam Lowry, $0.5m (2016-17)
AND
Patrick Maroon, $0.9m (2015-16)
Matej Stransky, N/C (0 games)
:PHI-NHL: Round 4

FOR

Mark Scheifele, $1.4m (2015-16)

Significantly re-jigged. Lowry is a player boys and don't let me hear otherwise. The only reason I am parting with him is to net another Jet in return. This adds good depth at wing and in the minors for the Rangers while bolstering strength at center for St. Louis. Also, please give Mr. Bojangled some time to respond. Summer is here so a lot of us are far from the ice.

Thanks once more Bo for the trade and for your patience.

Hopefully he picks on time haha!

I hate to be this guy, but the trade has been up for a week, and the pick involved in this trade will be on the clock in a few days. It is obvious that Bojangled has not been on and he gave no real notification to the league that he would be away for an extended period of time.

What should we do?

I added the 4th to the trade after the fact, in addition to what we had agreed to. The pick is an extra added by me to help make sure the deal meets with TC approval.

Regardless, the trade as posted stands until he signs off or the clock runs out on the pick. If I have to, I will simply edit the trade to include a prospect in lieu of the 4th.

I see what you are saying Slack, but I think favo is shooting at a bigger point.  He hasn't logged on in over a week during our draft!  Seems like a bigger issue to me than just this deal.  Hopefully he gets on soon!

Totally agree but that is a vetting issue. Once we have allowed a GM into the league, and have allowed that same GM to successfully execute transactions, then they should be governed by the Backyard book of rules. Without looking that up I think an allowable period of inactivity is something like two weeks.

Of course if a GM has a proven track record, or has indicated to Drew that they will be absent, then more leeway can be granted. Consideration for the fact that this actually is hockey's off-season (draft not-withstanding) should also be given. Last, New York's GM has indicated to me by mail that he currently has spotty access to the internet. I'm not sure why but I got the impression he was traveling.

Anyway, it's all up to Drew in the end but I would imagine that since we have allowed the guy into the league then we should probably give him an appropriate amount of time. Two weeks at a minimum and maybe some wiggle room as it is Summer. If Drew decides we need a replacement GM then the trade will obviously be void.

I am currently debating this issue of the Rangers. The current issue of a non-accepted trade is a bit off putting to many members as well as the inability of GMs to be able to contact Bryce which GMs have been removed before for. Also New York has failed to complete the activity check which began on June 23rd. Rangers also failed to make their picks in the draft and give me any notice or why not which again is off putting.

If he is going to be away or is spotty service, that is something that needs to be address to me so that I don't remove a GM for inactivity.

As for the trade, I think this is great for both sides, Rangers get a few more young players while St. Louis gets a solid young center with potential. If Rangers were to be removed I would consider pushing the trade through anyway.

There is no specific requirement in the rules for a trade to be accepted but in general if falls under Section 9-A where a post must be made within 4 days or else it is considered void.

Technically right now Right_Bojangled is in violation of Code of Conduct sections 3 & 6 so I will debate the issue a bit more before a final decision is made.

All positions go through an application process and are first open to internal transfers before a GM is selected, so patience is needed BAMF haha!

Before New York dropped out I had informed Drew behind the scenes that I was willing to amend the offer to substitute Sebastion Collberg in lieu of the 4th.
So the offer before the league now looks like this:

Mark Scheifele, $1.4m (2015-16)

FOR

Adam Lowry, $0.5m (2016-17)
Patrick Maroon, $0.9m (2015-16)
Matej Stransky, N/C (0 games)
Sebastian Collberg, N/C (0 games)

TC please vote on this trade. Whether it should pass as a currently league owned team I believe this is a good return for Mark. Also give your vote based on whether it should go through with no owner.

I believe that this is a more then fair return for the Rangers, but I also believe that the new owner should have the option to keep this deal on the table or not. I say we keep the deal open and wait for a new owner to approve the deal.

I agree with favo. I think it is a good deal for NY, but I'm unsure about making deals with league owned teams, especially since Backyard is a league that recruits new owners very easily

I don't like the idea of passing this deal until there is a new GM. Sorry Slackjack.

I agree with everyone else.  I guess I see a lot more value in Mark then some, but regardless, I think the new owner should have say on the deal.
