Teams will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. The order of selection is here (http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=20172.0), but I will not ask anybody to select their team until we have the League Constitution substantially complete. If people choose to waive their right to seeing the rules beforehand (such as Reid already selecting the Braves with the 1st pick), they may do so. The order must still be followed though.
A draft copy of the League Constitution is posted in the "Commissioner's Office" and updates will be posted as it is revised.
At this point, I anticipate league activities starting sometime this summer, and our first season beginning in 2012. If you're interested in joining, post here with your name and e-mail address and I'll add you to the list.
Questions and comments are welcomed.
-
Is the draft going to be a snake draft like ( 30th pick then 2nd round you get 1st pick)
-
This is just for choosing your team. You inherit all players and contracts of the team you choose.
-
o you just pick a team and manage it right?
-
Correct.

Kenny, I want the worst team. Like you, put me at the end of the list. I would like to set up a long term plan building up from the farm. Email is admin@ProFSL.com.

That actually wasn't my train of thought, but I wouldn't mind having the worst team. It's the format of the league that intrigues me the most (which is of course why I founded it) so I don't really have a strong preference for a team. I know quite often it's difficult to fill the last spot or two so by taking the last team, I'm hoping this helps our ability to fill out the remainder of the spots.

I'd be interested in joining if there is still space!

As long as this is NOT an entry fee league, I request joining .
"SpiritWind"
email :
P.S. Asking for an email address is highly risky security-wise ; there are Spam Bots
phishing the net for such info . On the security forums where I advise people,
we always recommend that they remove the email address from their Request
for help . In addition, since you now have my email address, I have deleted it
from this Post .

It is not an entry fee league. I know that especially in this economy, it's not feasible for many people to spend money on playing a game.
I know there are bots out there that look for e-mail addresses, but I thought that taking the "@" out would mitigate that. Is that just a myth?
-
Hi Kenny :
I doubt today's sophisticated Spam Bots will be deterred by changing a
"@" to a "(at)" . You might be interested in the following I found on Wikipedia :
"A number of programs and approaches have been devised to foil spambots. One such technique is address munging, in which an e-mail address is deliberately modified so that a human reader (and/or human-controlled Web browser) can interpret it but spambots cannot. This has led to the evolution of more sophisticated spambots that are able to recover e-mail addresses from character strings that appear to be munged, or instead can render the text into a web browser and then scrape it for e-mail addresses. Alternative transparent techniques include displaying all or part of the e-mail address on a webpage as an image, a text logo shrunken to normal size using inline CSS, or as text with the order of characters jumbled, placed into readable order at display time using CSS."
That website mentioned a possible "improvement" by putting blank spaces between each letter !?
For someone like Corey, he might be interested in reading the info on the
"Spambot Beware" website !?

Thanks for the information. I'll remove the e-mail addresses from the posts here and I'll put it in image file tonight.
I'll modify the first post and ask for people to PM me their email addresses.
Guess you learn something new everyday!

Hey Kenny,
I would love to join if there is an available team. I have read through the constitution.
My email is johnmrigas@yahoo.com
Thanks,
John Rigas
-
John, unfortunately the league is full now, but I will definitely contact you if you if anything opens up.
-
Kenny,
I have read through the constitution and am excited for the opportunity to join the league. Sorry it took me a little bit to get back to ya, if there are still any teams I would like to have one.
-
Josh, we're full for now, but I'll let you know if something opens up.
-
I'm not sure I will have the time needed for the league so the Diamondbacks are now available.

good luck to you Paul, Kenny I guess Josh can have the Dbacks.
-
Josh, would you like the Diamondbacks?
-
Yes I would like the Dbacks.
-
Blue Jays are available. If we can't find someone prior to the Amateur Draft, I will become the interim GM.

Have no fear, Brewcrew is here!

Reasons to get me in the AFB!
#1. I am an experienced fantasy owner of dynasty/franchise teams with a good record of both winning and being active.
#2. I already know the Jays system very well from top to bottom
#3. I would probably be the lone Canadian GM (and running the same team he does), mirroring MLB as closely as possible.
#4. It looks like you don't have anyone else
#5. This league is the greatest idea for fantasy ever and would like to be a part of it
Let me know, you can email me at amillar1018@hotmail.com
Thanks, Drew
