This is my first attempt at this.  If I'm doing something wrong let me know.  I don't understand how to get #12 versus this or that to compare salaries.

Sorry for the delay. Here's your options on the players you're looking to extend.

-Despres was the 45th ranked D in 14/15.  The extension cost is $3.0m for 2 or 3 years.  Despres qualifies for a prospect discount contract which would be $2.1 for 5 years if you choose it.
-Fisher was the 38th ranked C in 13/14.  The extension cost is $5.0m for 4 or 5 years.
-Streit was the 27th ranked D in 14/15.  The extension cost is $3.5m for 3 or 4 years.
-Comeau was the 58th ranked LW in 14/15.  The extension cost is $2.5m for 2 or 3 years.

Accept Despers for 5, accept Fisher for 4.  Honestly I only will accept Streit on a 1-2 yr, and Comeau for 1 YR.

You have to adhere to the extension limits:

Quote
Contract Limits for Extensions
Contract extensions follow the contract maximum lengths as shown above as well as their own minimum standards.

Salary - Min & Max Years
$6.5m+ - 5 years (the overall limit)
$5 to $6.4m - 4 or 5 years
$3.5 to $4.9m - 3 or 4 years
$2 to $3.4m - 2 or 3 years
$0 to $1.9m - 1 or 2 years

As I indicated Streit is only extendable for 3 or 4 years (or more if you increase the minimum value.  Comeau must be signed to at least 2 years.

Sorry but I have to ask,   what is the references to "patrick kane"?

to help further on what Rob has stated.

-------------------------------------------------

Extensions
Contract extensions are based on looking up the player's highest ranking by position in both the current season and the last season. If an extension is done during the season and before the trade deadline, then the previous TWO seasons and the current season must be looked at. In the off-season, the last two seasons will be used.  If a player has multiple positions, the contract must be equal to, or greater than, the higher salary of the positions.

(so basically you are going on fantrax, sort the players based on position so Center for example,  make sure its showing all players and then see where that player ranking for both last season and the season before,,  use whichever season is the higher ranking)

Okay, they can be non-tendered then.  I understand.

What am I doing here?  Extending just Fisher?
