There is no financial benefit from this release.  Under the following rule, the contract remains at $0.5m for both 2015 and 2016.

"Any player dropped before the trade deadline still has part of his contract count against the cap in the following manner:  Current year: 90%, Next year: 60%, All future years after: 30%."

Since Henderson is a (P-2016), there is no cap obligation
