Title: CIN/COL deal
Post by: h4cheng on April 15, 2011, 09:27:31 PM

After getting fleeced by Dan on the Upton/Rasmus deal, I am back for more:

C Mauer, Joe, $10m (2013)
MI-OF Sweeney, Kellen, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Colvin, Brody, $0.5m (P-n/a)
7M this year.

for
P Ni, Fu-Te, $0.5m (2011)
P Perdomo, Luis, $0.5m (2011)
CI Belt, Brandon, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI Stewart, Ian, $2.5m (2013)
SP Burnett, A.J., $16.5m (2013)
X-SP Burnett, A.J., Cash Exchange on Contract, $6m (2012), $-16.5m in 2011
6.5M in 2013

Thanks for the deal Dan. It took a well, I hope it works out for both teams.

Reds accept. Mauer outscored every catcher by 1,000 points last year. Belt was tough to let go, and I may end up regretting dealing him, but who knows who or what will be available in 2 or 3 years when he reaches his potential. Stewart was a piece I liked but Jim Tracy is Tony LaRussa Jr, and platoons him against lefties. Colvin and Sweeney are nice spects to have for dealing, and I rid myself of Burnetts contract. Plus Mauer only has a virus, so he should be back in a few weeks, if not, I look forward to him and Hamilton going nuts in the second half. A good deal for the Reds, but a tough one to make. Thanks Howe.

Catchers are a premium and getting top one in mauer has a price to pay looks like a good deal for both teams :iatp:

I will drop Randy Flores - He is not on my roster but still shows up on fantrax somehow.
