I assume this means that you are willing to pay him $500k per year?

I will bid $1m; the years of a non-prospect contract do not have to be decided until the bid is final.

I meant to bid $1 mil for Montero but was going to try and spread it over the two years -- if this is not the proper format, then my bid, as it was meant, is $1 mil

A couple of things...

1) All bidding is done in annual salary being offered. Number of years in a contract is not determined until the bid is final.
2) Do not post new bids in the complete forum. All pending bids and transactions are to be posted straight in the Transactions forum.
3) Assuming your bid is $1m annual, my bid at $1m is invalid and you are currently the high bidder.

Montero officially falls under a prospect contract. You may release him with no hit to the cap. His salary is at the league minimum, $500k... the rest was paid as a signing bonus.
