The Canucks were shopping for another goalie and I picked up Backstrom for this very reason, to flip him to someone else. I get a good D-man on a cheap contract, trade up in the draft, and save a little cap space, 3 things I really like. To do that I give up a backup G/potential starter, but I am pretty confident that I'll be fine with Howard and Allen in net.

I desperately needed a back up Goalie and am willing to take on Backstrom even not knowing his status in Minny.I think he is still a good Backstop and his contract is not that bad.Benoit is a good DMan but needs were the goalie and I don't have much cap left so I had to take a chance on him.

Some goalies are going for way cheaper than I would've thought but it's a whole new ballgame gents with all the new owners. :toast:

Wings are building with the future in mind. Good high 2nd rd pick 33rd overall in Izaman's hands. I give the Win to :VAN: for adding the best player in the deal imo anytime you get a goalie and don't have to sell half your team, you're a winner.
