The Devils Trade RW Ty Rattie - (2011 (2/32 - 0 Games)
And the 30th Pick in the Entry Draft( Boston by way of San Jose) For:
RW Chris Stewart, $4.7m (2013-2016)
RW Matt Frattin, $1.5m (2013-2016)
Rattie is a good young player and the 30th pick is also a good value, but could not pass on obtaining 2 wingers in this deal. Thanks for the talks SlackJack. The Avalanche to confirm.

:NJD: gets 2 RW in Stewart/Frattin, while giving up 2 RW in Zubrus/Rattie is what this boils down to. A matter of preference.

:iatp: You guys know your teams can only draft players from this yr's list of NHL Draftees right. Just wanna make sure. Seems like a heck of a lot of scoring for the Avs to deal for future worth. The cap is awesome though. W to :NJD:

Avs clear $6.2 Million in cap by trading away two Right Wingers. Colorado also loses lots of scoring. Looks like Avs will be busy in the Free Agent market or preparing for future deals. I give the Win to New Jersey although Avs could end up adding plenty of scoring with that extra cap space.
