Title: Nashville and Detroit Trade
Post by: izaman3 on July 13, 2014, 12:43:52 AM
To Nashville
Anze Kopitar, $6.8m (2015-2016)
Adam Henrique, $3.8m (2013-2016)
Jesper Fast, $0.4m (2013-2015)
Alex Petrovic, $0.5m (2013-2015)
LW - Artturi Lehkonen (2013: 2/55 - 0 Games)

To Detroit
Paul Statsny, $6.6m (2014-2015)
Gustav Nyquist, $0.2m (2014-2015-EL)
Roman Josi, $3.3m (2013-2016)
:NAS:'s Round 3 - 2014

This is mainly a trade of preference for me as I have really high hope for Nyquist and I think Stasny and Josi are more than solid. I pick up another pick in a year when I gave of a lot picks.

I gave up some good players, especially Kopitar, but with the star power I picked up this summer I'll be ok.

:NAS: confirms this trade

:NAS: does this trade to get a top C in Kopitar. Henrique is another solid C to go with Kopitar and the other C's we have. The other 3 players are young high potential players to go with our rebuilding process.

Hated to trade Nyquist and Josi because they both have a lot of potential but I needed more players for rebuilding the team. I didn't mind trading Statsny since Kopitar is a better C than him. The pick I also didn't mind because I kept my 1st and 2nd round picks and still got Kopitar.

:iatp: I will give the edge to the Wings for getting 3 solid starters to help them win now however the Preds get a very good package of talented young players for the near future.

If Nyquist repeats what he did last yr he'll be a steal. Kopitar is a great pickup for :NAS:
Paul Statsny will get a pay cut extension of -2.3m next yr so he's a great value pickup for :DET-NHL:

Wings are aggressive this yr. Watch out guys! :win:

Glad my teams aren't part of that monster Atlantic Division. :taco:

You sure you want to join up in the Atlantic with the Sabres BB??

Good trade. Both teams get pieces they want. Paul could have a great season in St.Louis.
Will give the edge to the Wings now but the Preds might make this deal look pretty equal in a couple of yrs.
