Title: Florida / SJ Trade
Post by: PigsRule on June 21, 2014, 01:37:43 AM

To :FLO:
LW/C Ryan O'Reilly, $1.5m (2013-2014) ... 4.9m (2014-2017)
RW Colin McDonald, $0.2m (2012-2014) ... 2.0m (2014-2017)

To :SJ:
C Vladimir Sobotka, $1.9m (2012-2015)
LW Carl Hagelin, $0.2m (2012-2014)  ... 3.7m (2014-2017)
D - Nathan Beaulieu (2011: 1/17 - 0 Games)
Round 2 - 2014 (from :FLO:)

Panthers make this trade to acquire a player we've had our eye on for a few seasons. The price was a little steeper than we wanted to pay but in the end we're very happy to add O'Reilly to our roster. Beaulieu, Sobotka and Hagelin were tough to lose in this trade but we believe Ryan's upside is substantial.

Sharks to confirm. :toast:

Sharks confirm this trade and love the package of players coming to San Jose.

The players are all young and will grow with our veteran players. Their contracts are all very affordable as well. The draft pick is icing on the cake.

We had no intention of resigning Colin McDonald so it's pretty much a 3 for 1 deal plus a high draft pick to boot. What's not to like.

Thanks for the deal Pigs! :toast:

Good deal for both teams. I give the Sharks the win, but a big part of that is my love for Hagelin. O'Reilly is a great young player himself.

:iatp: Good trade for SJ. They pick up a bit of everything in this trade. They get the Win in this deal in my books.

Going to give the win to Burke's Sharks.
:SJ: gets 1.2m in cap room and what amounts to a 1st (Nathan Beaulieu) and 2nd round pick.
