Title: 72 hour rule of FA bids
Post by: rcankosy on January 17, 2010, 05:41:32 PM
Guys,

I know it's late in the game, but 72 hours is an awfully long time for bigs to finalize.  Most leagues I've been in use 24 hours, because there tends to be some late bids.  Anyway, here's my concern.  Will we move on to bidding on Pitchers if bidding on CIs and DHs ahs not ended.

Roy..

By what I understand, the CI bids don't end with the start of P bids.. They will continue together... The date limit is to kind of control the flowl of bids... Probably by the time FA opens up for P, most of the CI bids will be ended and only a few bunch of players will be active...

The 72 hour limit is because we have a lot of time and not everybody is capable of comming online all days with time to check the bids.. We're talking about 30 managers, nothing more fair than let everybody check all bids...

I'm actually really enjoying the 72 hours aspect to the FA - I think it makes it feel like real free agency, when a team makes an offer and leaves it out there for a few days before anything gets done. Makes you stay patient, and makes you think twice about making multiple offers. Well, it does me anyway!

Also gives everyone the chance to pickup players even if they are compromised with time.
