:TOR: bids are invalid. They released McHugh on April 4, 2014 and cannot bid on him for 30 days after that. They are also over the salary cap limit.

Releasing Players•Any player dropped before the trade deadline still has part of his contract count against the cap in the following manner: Current year: 90%, Next year: 60%, All future years after: 30%.
•If the player is dropped after the trade deadline, then the hit to the cap changes to 75%, 50%, 25%, respectively.
•The hit against the cap is rounded to the nearest $500,000. Therefore, if it ends up being less than $250,000, the hit to the cap will be zero for that year.
•You may not bid on a player that you have released for a period of 30 days. If you resign a player, their original contract is restored.
•Any player released under a prospect contract will not cause a hit to the cap.

I am sorry, misunderstood the rule, thought I could not resign him until the time has passed. Today, the month is complete. What will happen with him? Can I bid on him now? Salary cap is no issue, as I already know the corresponding moves to free the necessary cap space.

Shooter will need to make that decision. In the past GMs have not been able to bid on a player after making an invalid bid on him.

The rule is pretty clear that you can't bid on players for a period of 30 days. The last legal bid that was unaffected by an invalid bid for the player was by Hank at $4m. Detroit wins McHugh for $4m. :judge:

Fantrax won't allow me to process this transaction. Hank, you need to drop a player.
-
Rule also says there is a time period for clearing space to add the player. I know there is flexibility with this period of time, but it has been over two weeks. If Hank does not want the player he should be sent back to the FA pool so that others can bid on him.
-
The Rule talks about cap space but doesn't say anything about roster spots. With that said it has been sitting here for a couple of weeks with no action. This transaction will be voided and Collin McHugh will return to the FA wire. :judge:
