Ottawa management wanted to acquire Draft picks in return for the rights to pending Free Agent Pavelski and we got our asking price.
We toyed with the idea of resigning Little Joe if we did not receive a fair offer but that was a moot point after Detroit sent their offer which bested another one sent to us earlier.
Good dealing with the Red Wings organization. :toast:

:iatp: i'm fine with this trade. Seems :OTT: was going to let Pavelski walk to FA and decided to get something in return and :DET-NHL: wanted to secure him before going into a FA bidding war for a player entering their prime. Would've been nice to see Pavelski go to a team in the Western Conf... but no luck.
