Title: NY Islanders - Colorado Trade
Post by: APHill on November 23, 2010, 08:48:53 PM
NY Islanders Sends
LW Matt Moulsen, $2.45m (2010)
RW Kyle Okposo, $1.671m (2010)
D Mark Streit, $4.1m (2012)
RW Kirill Kabanov, $m (P-n/a)

Colorado Sends
C Peter Mueller, $m (2009)
C Ryan O'Reilly, $0.88m (2011)
LW TJ Galiardi, $0.875m (2010)
RW Milan Hejduk, $3m (2010)
RW Brandon Yip, $0.725m (2011)
D Ryan Wilson, $0.551m (2010)

This trade gives me 3 immediate starters that definitely improves the Islanders (O'Reilly, Wilson, Hejduk) plus I get some depth with Yip.  When Mueller and Galiardi return they can only add to my roster's ability to score and make it more interesting

Colorado Confirms.

Sad to see such young talent go, but the Avs solidify the roster for a playoff push this year by taking a risk on these injured studs who should return by playoff time.

Best of luck to the new Isles, and hopefully the players acquired can step right in and contribute.

This is a weird trade, basically all those players from Colorado to NYI to get Moulsen. Colorado gives up a lot of talent in what seems like a one sided trade. Also Mueller and Oskopso just signed new extensions. But if this is what both teams what who can deny this, good trade NYI. Colorado hoping injuries to the stars they acquire are not major

:iatp: Give Okposo time to find his game, he'll be good. Just my opinion but I don't see how its gonna help a playoff push this year. I would move Hejduk for youth while he still has value, but not in the hunt. He'll heat up.

:iatp: but it is definitely in NYI favor.  Colorado gets what they want but why would they want injuries?
