Phillies recieve:
CI Kotchman, Casey, $5.5m (2013)
X-CI Kotchman, Casey, Cash Exchange on Contract, $-3m in 2011
X-CI Kotchman, Casey, Cash Exchange on Contract from STL, $-2m in 2011
P Happ, J.A., $0.5m (P-2012)
for
Cards receive:
P Texeira, Kanekoa, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Mayberry Jr., John, $0.5m (P-n/a)
I did this deal for depth. Getting Happ is key for me in case of injury. It also gives me flexibility if I want to deal another one of my SP's. Kotchman will also give me some depth at the CI position.

Cardinals confirm. We hate to trade Happ but this allows us to move Kotchman's future salary since we have plenty of other CIs. Texeira gives us some added bullpen depth.
