Sportsnut has stepped away from PROFSL which has opened up the Washington Nationals GM Position. It is unfortunate to lose sportsnut however I would like to have each GM position filled with an active participant when FA opens. :WAS: was the last place team last year but has a roster of young players with a lot of cap space to use during FA and the First overall pick in the 2014 draft. If any of you know someone who may be interested in the Position please have them send me a PM or let me know who they are. Prospective applicants can also reply to this post if they are interested in the position.
Please apply here for the :WAS: Washington Nationals GM Position if you are interested.
Thanks,

RC Members,
Looks like we have some qualified candidates for the open Nationals Position. Do any of you have experience being in a league with any of the candidates?
Feel free to vote for a candidate you think deserves the position or ask the candidates any questions you have.

Its good to see we have some good candidates.
I'd vote for Dave (Tarheels55). He is in many leagues and is very knowledgable about his teams. He is active and would be good for our league.

:soapbox:
I see that each of the candidates are members of multiple leagues. I would be okay with a known entity like Tarheels55, but I also like the idea of bringing in some new GMs. The Nationals are an "interesting" team because it will take awhile to rebuild the team to a competitive level. I don't know if it's asking too much for each of the candidates to share how they plan on rebuiling the roster. I don't expect any of them to write a dissertation, but a vote of support has to be based on something. I know each of them is interested, but in order to cast a meaningful vote, I'd like to give them an opportunity to describe how they would rebuild the Nationals. I am operating on the assumption that whomever we pick will be with us for a long time.

I agree....a quick plan of action, nothing to broad, would be nice. I do agree that Tarheels has been a good owner in other leagues but having new blood is something that will only benefit the league and the site.
-
I'm not of the opinion that the site's flagship league is the best place for "new blood" to cut their teeth. This league should be a place where those who have proven their worth compete. There are plenty of options for new guys, I think that established and proven members should get precedent in established and proven leagues.
My vote is for Tarheels, been rock solid in other leagues. The Nats need stability, not someone trying to figure out if they like the league or not. I would encourage the other applicants to pad their resume some on a few of the sites other terrific MLB leagues.

I would like to say thanks for the votes of confidance from my Bud Papps and all the other great owners in this league as I pretty much know all of you.I was the owner in here of the Angels back in 2011 and I feel I need to let you guys know this. The team I took over was pretty much in shambles, gutted of all talent and no good rookies or veteran players and after a year I stepped down and did the best I could with it but I waited for someone to take it over as I did not abandoned the team like most newbies would. It was a tough rd as I did the best I could in Free agency and the draft.but still had a respectable record. The Nationals are not the same as those Angels with a flux of young talent.I like Davidson and Hoes.Bichette,Miller,Garcia,Ozuna, and an interesting group of Pichers with Feliz and Delgado.I like the number 1 pick they get.The EDR is nice as they seemed to have a good draft of players.I would like the opportunity to help this team out.I know I am in a lot of leagues but I do take care of all my teams and I do the best job possible
Thanks
Dave tarheels55

I have sent a pm to drwho and zeus1604 asking them to post their plan for rebuilding the Washington Nationals. I have given them until Midnight CST on Saturday January 4th to reply. If they haven't replied by that time we will continue to move forward with the selection process without them.

What s a job with the Nationals !!!! Its sure its a young team with a lot of promising talents, but when you think to take this type of team you must look and take this team for at least 3 to 4 years its a futur team, so if you are not motivated you must renounce but i m motivated and i look to future and the 1st pick can help me, after i hope that some of my young talents will make the season of their life ! This team is an investisment that can make you happy in the next few years
I try to explain my point of view but not saying the same things than Tarh.
thx to all and good season

I'd like to thank both owners for showing their interest. I think both of you would make fine GM's!
There is no bad choice between the two. Both owners are very active and in a lot of leagues with us. I think its exciting that we are getting interest from both of these GM's. Unfortunately there is only one spot available at this time.
My vote would be for Tarheels55. He is very active, full of knowledge, and is a real asset to our community. I believe he would bring some stability to the Nationals and help transform them back into a solid team.
With that being said I'd like to encourage zeus1604 to apply again in the future. I think he would make a fine GM as well.

While I am familiar with both prospective owners I have to go with Tarheels on this one. As Chris stated above I too, hope Zeus applies for any future openings in FGM. He would make a fine GM. I just feel like he came in a little late

:iatp:
I vote for Dave as well.

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys.Really appreciate that.Zeus is a very good GM too.
Well turn over the reigns to me so I can transform this team LOL
I have work to do LOL
-
I am glad to see we have good quality candidates expressing interest in FGM. This was tough as both candidates are definitely qualified to take over the position. My Vote goes to Tarheels. He has been very active in other leagues I have been in with him and think he will be a great addition to the league. Zeus was also a good candidate and I think he should apply in the future when another position opens up.
Tarheels will take over the Nationals effective immediately. I will get him set up on Fantrax. Just in time as FA is right around the corner.
