I also don't want to leave the Angels in the middle of their rebuild, but I would also like to run my favorite team.  Consider my hat thrown in.

I don't believe internals transfers are allowed.  The RC decided that during the last turnover of the Dodgers.

I have been looking at this during the day to see what was actually decided on. The RC decided to do away with internal transfers but Colby made the following post.

The RC voted to limit internal transfers and allow them on a case-by-case basis.  It appears there are two primary qualifications:

1) A proven GM wants to downgrade by moving to a bad team in order to rebuild the franchise for the betterment of the league.
2) A GM wants to move to their favorite franchise.

Brent and Nerwffej seem to qualify for the second qualification. I may need to bring this before the RC again.

Colby's suggestion was made after the voting ended.

You would be going down a very slippery slope of when to allow internal transfers if you re-open this can of worms, but it is certainly your right as the commissioner even though I would advise you against it.  We almost lost two longstanding owners the last time this issue came up.

This has been a very sensitive issue within the league and I am well aware with the ramifications that this could cause.

Before the voting you also made this comment.

Your point is duly noted, though Rob could trade teams with 28 other owners if he was truly bored :)

To clarify, we are voting on whether to allow internal transfers as a regular practice of filling team openings.  In special cases, internal transfers may be approved, but that is NOT the context of the current vote.

Your comment here implies that the vote did not apply to special cases but doesn't really spell out what those special cases may be. Colby's comment came after this one and did suggest some special cases that may pertain to an internal transfer.

So, how do people go about running their favorite franchises if those were taken when they got into the league?  For me, the Angels were the only team available so I took him.  However, I hate everything the real life Angels stand for as they have become the Yankees of the west trying to buy a championship by signing every high priced FA.  The Cubs tried the samething for awhile, but under the new direction of Epstien I like the direction they are heading.  I've been a Cubs fan since I used to tell my Grandpa that Greg Maddux was going to be good if he could ever stop having one bad inning.  I just think that there should be something in place for managers to eventually get to run their favorite team should that team come available.

Speaking only for myself, there would have been only one circumstance in which I would have allowed it following the vote we took.  It would have been in a case like the Mets two years ago when no one would take the team, and Corey left the Yanks to take them over.  Basically, it would have been only as a last resort if no outside candidates applied for the team, and it stayed dormant for weeks.

I have thought about it and decided to stay with Red Sox no matter what the outcome of the RC decision on internal moves. I have built this team 100% name at the top doesnt really matter in the end is my team.  :toth:
