To Blues 12.1m
Tyler Seguin, $7.2m (2013-2017)
Brenden Dillon, $0.2m (2012-2014)
Brent Burns, $4.7m (2012-2015)
To Sharks 11.3m
Patrick Berglund, $6.0m (2014-2015)
Carlo Colaiacovo, $2.5m (2014-2015) Not playing these days
Jaroslav Halak, $2.8m (2013-2016)
Sharks were circling the water for a goaltender. We add one but have to deal a substantial part of our core to land Halak. The toughest player to lose in this deal is Burns who is a stud muffin of a player. I imagine the Blues are diversifying their roster to unlock points that are sitting on the bench when their two goaltenders start the same night. I really didn't want to add Carlo but Ripper made me take the salary. At least the dollar figures line up. Good trade for both teams.
Over to you Rip! :toast:
oct29-13: hard for ppl to know this is a trade without the icon and proper title. revised. trade icon added.

I accept.
I am not a fan of this leagues scoring and can't understand why goalies are worth twice as much as players. Having said that, I trade one to try and field a full line up. I appreciate BB talking Coliacivo to make the deal official.
Best of luck
Ripper

worth some airtime for sure!

Teams have given a lot more for a goalie as talented as Halak, but I see this deal as pretty fair and even considering our league.

San Jose has been busy (now I understand your trade offer Burke).
Last season this deal would've been a clean and clear win for the Sharks when we started 2 netminders. This year it's a different beast and with teams only starting 1 goalie it makes good sense to sell your extra starter for a strong package of everyday skaters. I checked the stats and Blues only capitalized on 35 of Halak's 57 points whereas they will be able to start all 3 players they receive to get a maximum of
26 Burns
22 Dillon
26 Seguin
74 points total
I give the win to the Blues for doing their homework and trading for their 3 new top scorers and unlocking $2.5 Million by dealing unsigned NHL UFA Colaiacovo. Nice trade St.Louis! :winner:

I like what Izaman and Dickie had to say.
:iatp:
I think the deal is fair and square. Both these guys are making things happen! My Hawks need more challengers in the West. LOL
Dickie don't forget :SJ: are also getting Berglund in the deal and even tho he comes with a big fat price tag he still puts up decent pts nightly. As for Carlo just consider his worthless cap hit an extension of Jaro's contract. LOL
