Title: Discussion: NHL Salary Cap Trend
Post by: PigsRule on October 17, 2013, 03:43:40 PM
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/globe-on-hockey/how-the-nhls-salary-cap-could-hit-90-million/article7029575/

Article from immediately post-lock-out in January about the trend of the NHL Salary Cap...
The article projects the cap to remain flat over the next 2 seasons and eventually reaching upwards of $90 million by 2021-22... 9 years from now!

Wondering if the 2014-15 cap ceiling will remain at 64.3m or jump up like many fans/people believe!?!?!???

Thinking the cap will be below 70m. My money's on 68m. The GMs have to control salaries.

I read that :LAK: GM Dean Lombardi is expecting the 2014-15 cap to be closer to 68m instead of 71m because of the weak Canadian dollar. My teams are up against the ceiling and it'd be nice to have more cap to work with during free agency but we'll make do with anything. We're good that way. LOL

had not read about the cap being in the high 60's range. interesting. will definitely road block teams again this off season if it's lower than the projected 71.1m the NHL spoke about back in December.
