The Phillies and Indians come to terms on a waiver deal.
Phillies get:
OF Choo, Shin-Soo, $13.5m (2014)
CLE pays $12m in 2013
Indians get:
MI Story, Trevor, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Hultzen, Danny, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Martin, Ethan, $0.5m (P-n/a)
Phillies get a good OF with a heavy contract in Choo for a couple of kids with good potential. It fits my need in the OF for next year and Cleveland gets a ton of salary back for next year along with a couple of good prospects. Fits needs for both teams.
Thanks Reid for the deal! :toth:

:CLE: agrees to this deal.
I took over this team and while it's a pretty solid one, it will continue to lose in the 1st round if the :CLE2: can ever get back to the playoffs in 2014 with this team. We regain Storey who we traded not too long ago as well as 2 pitchers to add to the depth of this staff. The new cap space will be used on free agency some and extensions in the future as well.
Choo is set to become a free agent in real life and is already 32 years old. He may not have another season like this again.
Thank you Chris for fairly easy talks and good luck to you the rest of the playoffs and into the future!

Trades once the playoffs begin should not be allowed, if this is legal, I ask the RC to look at this rule.
-
The waiver trade deadline is today just as it is in MLB. The issue it does bring up is that our playoffs start before September.
-
At the time it is legal and I approve. I do agree that this is something that should be looked at though.
-
Since this trade is after the playoffs have started, then :veto:
It is not fair by any means to be trading when the playoffs have started.
-
Not like my vote counts anyway, but not the right way to do it.
-

The trade timeline is within the rules.
-
Not on the TC or RC, but I see no problem with it.

:iatp:
Disagree with this greatly, I do not believe this was the spirit of the rule and is a loophole. Interesting to see a team that could make World Series trade away serious pieces.
Other trade finalized, so this one should be as well.
-
I dont get the reasoning here of a playoff team moving a legit bat for specs
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but since Philly is on the TC this trade needs 4 approvals?

Correct. TC voted 3 approvals. One more is needed.
Daniel, OUDAN, and Corey are still left to vote.
-
Maybe i feel like this because I am going against this week the Indians, but I feel is total unfairness team can make waiver deal and TC can drag this out where team can use player trading then still gain on players getting for what was looking for long term. If this is going to be approved get it done and get players to teams there going to this is playoffs is not right to play guys that have been traded!!!!!!!!!!!

His team I guess its fair :iatp:

Im sure this will cause an up roar, but I will veto
Trades should not be allowed to happen at this point.
And we shouldnt allow a loophole to affect the integrity of the playoffs.
