Vegas makes the following trade with Vancouver
LW David Perron, $6.8m (2019-2020) [$5m paid for]
for
D Colin Miller, $2.7m (2022-2023)
X- 2020 2nd Round Draft Pick, Vancouver, $m this year
X- 2020 3rd Round Draft Pick, Colorado, $m this year
Vegas does this as in full rebuild mode, and Perron being 32 years at the start of next season, his contract extension is already close to 5m. Vegas has no plans on resigning him at that rate for 5 years.

Just as I said I don't like to give up for rentals, I've done 2 deals now for players on expiring deals that will cost over $5m to re-sign, essentially making them pure rentals.
Give up the multiple picks to get Miller tacked on to this trade as he's under-performing a whole lot this season.
