During off season GM's tend to forget about they leagues their in as they are busy enjoying the Summer months, but with FA going on, draft coming up and other great changes happening we want to make sure all GM's are active and put together the team they desire for October.

We will follow up with GM's not signed in after a period of time to make sure they are just busy and haven't given up on the league!!

Thanks all,

Gilly

All old topics/messages have been put in the newly added childboard (Thanks Colby) named "Franchise NHL - Archives"

I've kept and stickyed the ones that are new and or still need to be kept for reading by Gm's.  U can click that childboard and access any topics/messages that have been done here for reference.  This will allow the newly posted topics to be found easier and read quicker by all GM's.

Thanks,

Gilly :)

Islanders Rec's
- James Van Reims Dyke

San Jose Rec's
- Dany Heatley
- 3rd Round Pick 2011

We were going to do straight up JVR for Heatley, but because he's eating so much cap and I feel JVR is a little bigger than Heatley that  a 3rd round pick was thrown in to even it out....He got what he wanted, I got what I wanted....we are some happy Gm's tonight..

Welcome to the Franchise League bud, with a great attitude like yours you are gonna have fun here :)

Washington Rec's
- Vanek
- Sutter
- Little
- Niki Havibultin
- Glennie

Dallas Rec's
- Henrik Lundqvist
- Couburn
- Doan

I needed a goalie and in this league Goalies cost alot....I think looking at who moved both ways its obvious what we did, he wanted youth and studs, I needed a goalie...we worked it out and I save some cap as well to rebuild what I lost...Niki is gone next year and Glennie may or may not play so its really 3 for 3 with him winning but me getting what I need...

Man Sportsdoc your a patient man to work with me like this, lol!!

Thanks buddy!! :toast:

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Respect!!
« on: June 30, 2011, 10:45:39 PM »
I think there needs to be some grown up respect for fellow GM's, when bids are within an hour or so, is it really needed for GM's to up the bid, there was 48 hours to do so, I realize what the rules state, but I just think the new folks should show some veterans some respect and everyone else for that matter as I believe its very juvinile!!

Wild Rec's
- John Taveres
- Mark Eaton

Islanders Rec's
- Danny Heatley

Eaton was thrown in to close the cap gap....I know I have 36 mill in cap space but it can go fast if you don't pay attention...so I made Drew take on Mark lol!!

Quick deal as always with King Drew!!

Dallas Rec's
RW - Martin Havlat, $5.0m (2013-14)
RW - Bryan Little, $2.4m (2012-13)
C - Rob Schremp, $0.5m (2011-12)
LW - Sean Bergenheim, $0.4m (2011-12)
LW - Chris Kunitz, $3.7m (2011-12)

= 12.0m

Ottawa Rec's

RW - Michael Grabner, $4.1m (2012-13)
LW - Patrick Elias, $6.0m (2012-13)
C - Stephen Weiss, $3.1m (2012-13)

= 13.2m

I did it to get value for Grabby and Weiss....I love the package I got in return, role players plus a few stars I wanted and better I save 1.2m in cap :)

Watch out boys!!

Pleasure doing business man, we always have so much fun doing these deals!!

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Dallas - Chicago Trade
« on: June 22, 2011, 12:18:29 AM »
Chicago Rec's
- Niki Havibulin, man I can't spell!!

Dallas Rec's
- 4th round pick 2011

I decided today Im not calling Niki up, and time to move his old butt....with the extra cap I can call more out of my minors than originally thought and Niki will be a waste of 1.9 mill for me + its minor cap relief :)

  • Daddy: Agreed. But most does not equal all.

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    May 05, 2024, 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Braves155: But I myself could use some time on a nudie island with some hot women
    May 05, 2024, 02:49:45 PM
  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.
    May 05, 2024, 04:33:51 PM
  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
    May 05, 2024, 04:35:28 PM
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.
    May 05, 2024, 05:15:18 PM
  • Daddy: There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.
    May 05, 2024, 05:21:23 PM
  • Daddy: Until someone starts a minor league baseball fantasy game or option. Maybe we can petition fantrax? I just dont think they will care for that.
    May 05, 2024, 05:23:07 PM
  • Daddy: Neither should we (so much). Every league i see is MLB.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    May 05, 2024, 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
    May 05, 2024, 06:02:39 PM
  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
    May 05, 2024, 06:20:28 PM
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
    May 05, 2024, 06:22:29 PM
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
    May 05, 2024, 06:24:36 PM
  • Brent: I over value minors to a fault, but I am softening on that stance.

  • Daddy: Now either there are a lot of people copying our style or trying to learn it.. or possibly there is just that much interest by visitors. Maybe both. Either way, we got to be doing something right. The NHL LIVE season, will start with an amateur draft.
