The buyout/credit loophole is also creating artifically high contracts.  ie. Sergey Tolchinksy ( no way he goes that high if the GM knows he has to come good for the contract)

Well, I would disagree with that. I view it as a luxury tax for a future player. By the time he reaches the league, he could be a minimum salary player and a huge value. I'd get that argument for a competitive team, but not so much for a team a few years away. Maybe the argument you were aiming for has to do with drafting players with no experience? Same can be said about guys like Panarin/ Plotnikov/ Medvedev? All highly overpaid FA acquisitions.

I like the buyout rule, but I think it should be a one time deal.

Just because your wife has an ahole doesnt mean you use it every chance you get or do you Slack?
Let me be clear, I find this to be in very poor taste. It is offensive, mean-spirited, and disrespectful, and it crosses a line for me. If it was an attempt at humour, it was at my expense, and at my wife's.

There is a standard for conduct here that, like all rules, must be applied equally. I have contacted PR directly about this comment only to be met with contempt. I expect more from this league, and would like an appology.

You do realize you've been baiting the commissioner with your multiple BOs and resignings right?

I would say put it in reverse and back out slowly.
You've taken a wrong turn.

I'm sorry you see it that way. I used a rule as it is spelled out, and did so prior to any talk of abuse. You should be alarmed that this is more of a personality contest than pro hockey league. Decisions should not be made on a case by case basis depending on weather you like a person or not.

Keep in mind that I bought out and Alexander Semin 3 times in a row last year without protest or warning. We all have a right to understand how things are going to work. The reaction to all this is entirely random.

In any event, league owners should have more class than insulting GM's and their wives because they think they are challenging to deal with.

Yes and no.  I was only using him as a recent example,, I think you would see that as more of a 2 year contract instead of 3 years without the buyout rules.  I look at it and we already save 33.3% on a contract on buyouts.  do we really need the discount on top of it.  The discount does allow for do overs but in a competitive league I dont like do overs.

I would agree with this, and think it's an easy rule edit. But let's not penalize teams retro-actively for rules made up on the fly!

I don't know about you gents but any site I've been a member of has a rule about taking PMs and posting it publicly.

SlackJack.

SLACKJACK!

Your team has been penalized for stirring sh!t needlessly, repeatedly and then b!tch!ng all over the place about it.

1 team abused a rule several times.
1 team is acting like a cancer being negative.
1 owner wants things his way, can't get it and is kicking and screaming now.

GO COLORADO GO! :taco: :taco: :taco:

Odd how you keep complaining about the conduct of others!?

Do you honestly think 10$ buys you the freedom to sh!t on people?
Pony up if you want to live that lifestyle.
You have to cough up at least 100$ for a trick. LOL
