Hawks/Wizards deal
«
on:
January 01, 2020, 09:08:45 PM »
Hawks receive:
2021 first round pick - Wizards
KZ Okpala .5(2022)
Wizards receive:
Blake Griffin 8(2021)
8M previously paid
Washington makes this trade, in the hopes that Griffins shortcomings thus far this season are injury related. I’ve read that he’s banged up and since I’m playing for the next few years, acquiring a player like Griffin that could return to form next year to solidify my lineup would be huge. I do deal another first round pick and a player with a ton of upside in Okpala, but the route I’m going the deal makes sense for both teams.

Not too familiar with Okpala, but as I said in my intial deal with Hawks Griffin's value and health is difficult to predict, so if both teams happy

Picks in 2021 and onward are more valuable in that the league might change the one and done rule letting high schoolers be drafted. Whichever season that is (one of 2021-2024 probably) will have a draft featuring 2 classes of players. So this being a 2021 pick instead of 2020 is something of note.

Better value here for Blake. His value is so volatile depending on who you're asking. He could return to LAC form or he could just be a decent role player (for fantasy), who knows.
But with the Wiz making all these moves, that 2021 pick will be a late one I would think. Klay, KD, Porz, and now Blake to join some nice younger guys as well.

If you’re in CCD and plan to return next season, make sure to check-in asap before it’s too late! Notices have been made and soon some of you could get replaced. Only takes a moment to get it done.

CCD championship ended one week ago and we are pressured to decide right away if we are coming back or we lose our team?

It’s a dynasty league so we assume everyone plans to return. This is the time for those who definitely don’t plan to return to say so that way we know ahead of time we have to find replacements. Nobody is pressuring you, it’s more of a courtesy to the LM who do this for nothing so they can make a game plan for next season.
