It has become apparent to me, that given my weakened physical condition, I am not up to even the simplest things required by a moderator. I thought I could simply “push on” and carry on my duties once I was released from hospital care, but the last 24 hours have shown me that was an ill-fated belief.
During my short time home, I have completely alienated a league member through a series of sharply worded PMs, something that is never fruitful. That exchange has resulted in me being characterized as a bad person, and given my responses, the criticism is well-deserved. My mantra for this league has always to maintain it as a “no drama league”. Obviously, alienation of a league member isn’t a characteristic associated with no-drama.
But it convinced me that it’s time to step away from all WCB2 activities indefinitely and let Rick (BHows) handle things. If Rick so chooses, he can recruit a new moderator, or wait until I’m physically able to return. I know that JimmySmithers has offered to help, but that’s a decision Rick has to make.
Rick and I have revived this league two different times, by relying on the commitment of league members and finding new GMs for abandoned teams. Far be it from me to get in the way of league success simply because I allowed my emotions to run amok.
