MLB made several rules changes during the CBA in 2022. I propose we include this rule change starting with this upcoming (2023) season.
The post season in MLB had been expanded from 8 to 12 teams. We are seeing that this season in MLB. The top two division winners get byes, while the lowest seeded division winner joins the wildcard teams in the first round.

Agreed, we should keep up with the MLB postseason format
-
Agreed but it will probably result in a week shorter regular season.
-
I support the expansion of the playoffs as well.
I'm struggling to remember specifics, but I'm pretty sure our season ends a couple of weeks before the end of the MLB season. Would we need to shorten our regular season to make this happen?

Our playoffs are already 4 rounds with Wild Card weekend, so we should be ok here

The reason for ending our regular season before the MLB playoffs is the real MLB teams rest their best players before their playoffs begin. Our playoffs and World Series are then played with too many bench players.
