I lost slugger Paul Janish. Say it ain't so. I read the post that says he was signed to a 1 year deal in 2014, however, he was signed by the Mets in 2015 in the post below.

You're correct.  Janish should have been released to free agency at some point.

Does the 48 hour window begin when a player is waived or after being fantraxed?

No, you can remove him at any time but you must have a roster spot open on your 40 man roster.

Yes, I believe it's after 2 months of the claim but not positive.  It's a new rule, maybe Maydab can chime in.
