Detroit Tigers History :DET:

2021: 5th in AL Central (27-135)
The Tigers continued their slide into oblivion.  Once again, under the guise of rebuilding, the Tigers fail to utilize its considerable amount of cap to get some free agents that will help build a competitive lineup.  Their continued mediocrity has garnered the 1st round draft position in the 2022 FYPD, but unless there is a chance in philosophy, the Tigers are destined to be cellar dwellers for the immediate future.

2020: 9th in Central Division  (16-44)
The Tigers continue to wallow in mediocrity under the veil of a self-proclaimed rebuilding process.  With some young talent on the horizon, hopefully things will turn around and this franchise will once again be competitive.

2019: 3rd in AL Central (63-99)

2018: 3rd in AL Central (52-110)

2017: 1st in AL Central (114-48)
Dan lost in ALDS to champ Seattle

2016: 5th in AL Central (25-129)
Joseph

2015: 2nd in AL Central (43-47)
Hank

2014: 2nd in AL Central (76-65)
Hank no playoffs

2013: 4th in AL Central (52-89)

2012: 5th in AL Central (46-114)

2011: 3rd in AL Central (83-79)
The previous GM left for a better job in Boston while the Tigers hired ex-Marlins GM hank.  The team dealt Carl Crawford which proved to be a fairly smart deal, acquired Josh Beckett who did well for $5.5m annual salary, and reacquired AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander.  One would think these early season transactions would make the Tigers better, but the surprising Royals and veteran Indians kept the Tigers from repeating.

2010: AL Central Champs (90-72)
After two failed GMs and a horrible 2009 campaign, the Tigers hired a working GM in Jeff Wren in February 2010.  He quickly went to work in the middle of free agency and acquired Andrew Bailey, Tim Hudson, Edwin Jackson, Johnny Damon, Ricky Nolaso, and Jason Bartlett.  All of those moves paled in comparison to when he traded for Hanley Ramirez (who was later moved to Tampa Bay in the huge Carl Crawford deal).

The result was one of the best turnarounds in some time as the Tigers were the most improved team in 2010.  The Tigers lost in the opening round of the playoffs against the New York Yankees.  Jeff Wren resigned from his post as Tigers GM to take on an opportunity with the Red Sox.  He was replaced by former Marlins GM, Hank Chang.

2009: 5th in AL Central (67-95)
The real life Tigers shot themselves in the foot and lost the race for the AL Central against the Twins in 2009.  The fantasy Tigers almost lost 100 games.  Injuries and poor coaching decisions led to the dismay of the team.
