Title: POSTDATED APR7 - NYR and MTL Deal
Post by: Burkes Boys on March 11, 2019, 04:11:34 PM
TO NYR
G Devan Dubnyk, $8.9m (2015-2020)
D Brenden Dillon, $2.9m (2017-2020)
SDP Round 1 - 2019 (originally :LAK:)

TO MTL
G Andrey Vasilevskiy, $6.4m (2017-2021)

After the Rangers team meeting following our elimination from the 1st rd of the playoffs, we decide to go in a different direction with our starter while adding more veteran leadership on the blueline. And we're not done with moves. More to come.

:iatp: Habs agree. Shaking up the roster after a tough playoff loss feels good. Feels like we're doing something about it to make it right. We paid the asking price to get a younger top goalie. Good easy going talks with BB. :toast:

It is very clear and evident that BB knows but he's doing, but I feel like Montreal is getting a steal here. Both owners doing a bit of a shakeup.

:iatp: Habs getting a good one here. That might just be a case of an owner pulling the trigger after an emotional loss.

When you get offered the top young goalie in the game, you say "Yes" and remember to say "Thank You". Unless Andy has a severe blood condition that's career threatening I'm not aware of, this is a no brainer for my Habs.

:iatp: 2 big goalies changing jerseys after playoff losses. Surprised but not really. Both owners had high hopes for their team.

:iatp: Great deal for NYR though they take on more cap in the process.
