Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Sens and Flyers Agree to Trade
« on: January 01, 2017, 03:35:53 AM »
Ottawa management completes a trade with Philadelphia after a month long marathon negotiation.

We acquire an outstanding character player and some excellent young talent as we continue to restructure the Senators roster during what can only be described as a frustrating season.

COMING TO OTTAWA
$1.7 Million cleared in cap space
Gabriel Landeskog, $7.5m (2014-2018)
C - Pavel Zacha (2015: 1/6 - 30 Games)  GP updated Dec26, 2016
C - Tyson Jost (2016: 1/10 - 0 Games)
Round 2 - 2017  (from :COL-NHL:*)

SENT TO PHILADELPHIA
Evander Kane, $5.9m (2016-2020)
Jaromir Jagr, $2.5m (2014-2017)
Jamie Oleksiak, $0.8m (2015-2017)
D - Kale Clague (2016: 2/51 - 0 Games)

As with any rebuilding project, there's always more to come. Ottawa management is very pleased we could acquire standout prospects Zacha and Jost, both recent Top 10 draft picks.

A good professional trade negotiation with PPG.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade Los Angeles and Calgary
« on: December 28, 2016, 08:00:57 PM »
This trade commenced with an inquiry about the availability of Tarasenko.

TO FLAMES
RW Vladimir Tarasenko, $2.0m (2014-2017)
D Jaccob Slavin, $0.2m (2015-2017)
D Klas Dahlbeck, $0.5m (2015-2018-EL)
G Justin Peters, $0.2m (2016-2018)

TO KINGS
LW Milan Lucic, $5.9m (2013-2017)
RW, C Elias Lindholm, $2.8m (2016-2019)

He has been a mainstay in Los Angeles and while he was going to be resigned we received enough of an incentive to trade him along with extra Defencemen from our roster for two talented forwards we are confident will help us to a strong finish in the second half of the season after which we will determine how we will handle Milan Lucic's contract demands.

This is the first trade between our teams since new owner DToxFan acquired the Flames. Good negotiations, DToxFan.

The currently open Free Agent bidding should cover our Buy-Out expense for Cory Conacher.

Los Angeles management is pleased to announce they have come to terms on a trade with the Florida Panthers to acquire veteran Goaltender Peter Budaj and defenseman David Savard.

:LAK: Traded to the Los Angeles Kings
Peter Budaj, $0.2m (2016-2018)
David Savard, $5.7m (2015-2019)

:FLO: Traded to the Florida Panthers
Nikita Kucherov, $6.0m (2016-2020)
C - Gemel Smith (2012: 4/104 - 0 Games)  Has now played 12 NHL Games
Round 1 - 2017 :LAK:
Round 3 - 2017 :LAK:
Round 4 - 2017 :LAK:

Although we can survive the lengthy injury to our 1A goaltender Quick, our organization believes in thriving. Budaj is an expensive mid-term rental option we think can hate the workload with Roberto. In Nikita Kucherov we give up the Number 1 Right Winger in FNHL while he also possesses intrinsic value for the Panthers organization having been drafted by their current GM thus qualifying for a hometown discount. Three months from now we will be left with Savard as the only true player of value in this trade when Jonathan makes his return to the ice. Therefore this trade is bitter sweet for our organization.

Ottawa management is pleased to announce a major trade with the Chicago Blackhawks.

:OTT: Traded to the Ottawa Senators:
Evander Kane, $5.9m (2016-2020)
Cam Ward, $6.2m (2015-2019)
Jacob De La Rose, $0.9m (2015-2018-EL)
G - Alex Nedeljkovic (2014: 2/37 - 0 Games)
Round 1 - 2017

:CHI-NHL: Traded to the Chicago Blackhawks:
Braden Holtby, $10.2m (2015-2020)
RW - Ryan Hartman (2013: 1/30 - 8 Games)  GP updated July 1, 2016
LW - William Carrier (2013: 2/57 - 0 Games)
LW - Andrew Mangiapane (2015:  6/166 - 0 Games)

With our team's lackluster start, Senators executives felt it would be prudent to change direction and plot a new course. The incoming group of players and draft pick solidifies those immediate future plans.

Evander Kane and Cam Ward were crucial to making this trade work. Alex Nedeljkovic represents future goaltending insurance in the event Saros fails to develop. De la Rose is a great prospect to invest in and our organization is great managing draft picks.

We will continue to search for trades to improve our organization in a multitude of ways. Chicago to confirm.

  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development

  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
