You'll see in my latest post on the trade block that I have a lot of holes to fill and I'm not thrilled with the free agent pool in our league this year. I don't see myself contending for a couple more years so it's full rebuild time. Bauer is 30 and I'm happy to move him at the height of his value for a younger pitcher in Lopez (who I am a big believer in) and a good prospect in Groshans. Amir Garrett may end up a closer this year but he may not and, as I am in a rebuild, I'll gladly move him for a decent prospect in Shewmake.

Cubs accept.  I think we are on the verge of a World Series, and this move helps solidify a rotation that was full of depth but lacking the top end aces.  I feel as if I now have a pair of top 20 arms in Bauer and Carrasco and Garrett give me the closer upside,  with a solid floor of being a go to reliever.  Of course it hurts to give up pablo, shewmake and groshans, but that’s what it takes to pull a guy like Bauer.

  nice trade for both teams. Im a bauer fan seeing he was a former indians but im also like what boston got in return im always a fan of specs.  I feel this is a good trade for both teams
