TRADE MTL/CHI
« on: June 16, 2018, 12:14:32 AM »
Habs and Hawks agree to a trade. I've been sitting on this one for a long time. Hope the offer from Dickie is still valid. If not, no problemo! :toast:

:CHI-NHL: Hawks get
Round 1 - 2018  (from :CLG:*)
T.J. Brodie, $3.4m (2016-2019)
Andrew Ladd, $7.3m (2015-2019)
Tyler Pitlick, $0.2m (2017-2019)
G - Collin Delia (SDP 2018: UNDRAFTED - 2 Games)  GP updated Apr9, 2018

:MON-NHL: Habs get
Kevin Shattenkirk, $5.5m (2016-2020)
Ryan Hartman, $1.0m (2016-2019-EL)
Anders Nilsson, $1.6m (2015-2018)
Round 2 - 2018  (from :BUF-NHL:*)
Round 2 - 2018  (from :OTT:*)
Round 2 - 2018 (from CHI)

We felt it was OK to deal the high 1st rounder for a trio of 2nds. The draft is deep enough that we should get what we want in the early stages of the second round. After that it was a matter of fine tuning my roster and Chicago wanted a couple of our guys (Ladd and Pitlick) so it seems to have worked out for both of us. Thanks for the trade talks Dickie!

Chicago Blackhawks organization agree this trade with Montreal. Mordecai, the offer is certainly valid even if it is 3 months old.

We like the acquisition of Andrew Ladd who will bring character to our organization. This key to this trade is the 6th overall pick via Calgary and adding Brodie and a prospect goalie in Delia since we were not going to be able to resign Anders Nilsson. GL with your new players Mordecai.

Good pieces going both ways. Interesting G and pick swap. Ladd can be re-signed for a cheaper cap hit. Though I do hope DD knows that Calgary's pick is #8, and that pick #6 overall is currently in a trade to Detroit.

:iatp: I agree with Izaman3. As he said, Chicago is receiving Montreal's 1st rounder which is 8th overall, not 6th overall as the original post mentions. Sometimes that make a big difference.

A well-conditioned team wins in the first ten minutes, maybe less. The opponent is destroyed not just on the scoreboard but their will is broken when an opponent comes out hard and fast.
