BAL gets:
MI/OF Leury Garcia (3m, 2023)

OAK gets:
OF Jorge Soler (11m, 2024) BAL pays 3m in 2022 and 1.5m in 2023

Soler finished the season strong and I?m gambling he?s worth the price. Banking he finds an everyday role and plays up to his potential. I was gonna sign a Of in FA anyway and figured this may end up cheaper. 

Garcia has a defined role and a new three year MLB contract. He?s not an everyday guy without injury but he?s a valuable player. Baltimore will get a consistent guy under a decent contract.

Salary was obviously a big reason for this trade. Baltimore was very reasonable and I think on paper both teams accomplished their goals.

Good luck to Baltimore and waiting their confirmation.

Baltimore confirms.

I think Soler's contract is pretty good compared to what is being given out in free agency, but it has more risk of being bad in the future than I like since BAL is unlikely to be a contender this year. Garcia is not as good as Soler but clears up cap space and helps my positional eligibility.
