VEGAS and MONTREAL DEAL 1ST ROUND PICKS
« on: August 26, 2019, 12:26:06 AM »
We fielded 5 offers and narrowed down to two offers we liked. Ultimately settled on one.
Vegas and Montreal complete a trade to move first round draft picks. We believe adding a player like Turris helps us a lot now and the three 1st round picks will be high quality players very soon in this year's deeper draft while the additional Supplemental draft pick is always welcome.

Traded to Montreal Canadiens
Round 1 - 2019 :LV:
Matt Calvert, $0.6m (2019-2021)
Juuso Riikola, $0.8m (2018-2020)
LW - Trevor Moore (SDP 2019: UNDRAFTED - 25 Games)

Traded to Vegas Golden Knights
Round 1 - 2019 :NYR:
Round 1 - 2019 :MON-NHL:
Round 1 - 2019 :CHI-NHL:
SDP Round 1 - 2020 :MON-NHL:
Kyle Turris, $3.8m (2018-2021)
RW - Gabriel Gagne (2015: 2/36 - 0 Games)

Montreal owner to confirm. :toast:

:MON-NHL::iatp: Habs confirm. ALL4 absolutely wanted Turris & the SDP Round 1 pick. They weren't going to kill us to include Kyle in order to get what we want. We really thought long and hard about holding those three 1st Round draft picks to build for the immediate future but we have to keep up with our division rivals and this was the best way to go about it imo. GL building out your roster in Vegas ALL4!

Neither team afraid to take a chance ... I like it. Interested to see how this plays out over time.

:iatp: The question to ask is whether those 3 1st rd pks, Turris and SDP 1st rd will be better than Hughes or Kakko? I say definitely Yes! But weigh the deal as a whole and I got to give the edge to MTL for added help from Calvert. Like Crow said, time will tell because if Hughes/Kakko are no better than Nico Hischier then Vegas makes out like a bandit. Also, if those 3 first rounders are used on specs that never reach their projected ceilings like Olli Määttä, Malcolm Subban, Brendan Gaunce or even Scott Laughton then oh well, tough break for VGK.

I require from my teams, proper levels of anger, belligerence and some good ol' fashion piss 'n' vinegar.

:iatp: Wondering if Canadiens made the move because Bruins hold the the second overall pick. It's going to be a wild race in the Atlantic this year. Good trade. Takes big brass balls to pull off this deal for both sides.

Depth wins in this league so if the picks hit it's a win for Vegas

I think i'd rather have the sure thing though.

Big trade
