The one im looking into is changeing is the release of players. Im thinking we go to the way the other leagues our set up where it is 90% 60% 30% before trade deadline and 75%  50% 25% after trade deadline.

That's a good suggestion. It would also be nice to do something about when a player retires. They retire from injury or choice and you get stuck with a big contract on your roster you just have to eat in a release. I think if the player retires you should be able to get rid of the contract in the same way new owners get to get rid of one contract when they join. That way it discourages GM's from giving our ridiculous life long contracts thinking they'll never have to pay it.

Honestly I'm against both changes.  I like this league because those rules are different than all of the other leagues on the site.  I see no reason to try to make all of the leagues the same.  Both of those rules allow owners to get out of bad decisions so easily and this league holds owners accountable for those bad decisions, which I like.

I'm with Ryan. The rules are set up to prevent teams from spending wildly in FA. You actually have to budget in this league, and it shouldn't be all that hard with 200 minors spots for cheap production.

Yeah I’m against that change as well for the reasons above. Part of this leagues original purpose was to mimic real life as much as feasible and teams shouldn’t have easy outs from contracts. Plus, having that option would probably just mean the FA contracts given out would get even crazier.

Some teams spend years trying to cultivate a healthy franchise without cap issues. There shouldn’t be a cheap easy workaround

I agree with all statements.  GMs need to be accountable for their spending and not be allowed to get out of deals so easily.  The rules in this league for releasing players needs to remain as is and not mimic the other leagues.

1) Limit starts per week by pitchers
2) Reduce starting player spots to increase competition;  C, 1b, 2b, 3b, SS, LF, CF, RF, DH
3) Use unused cap in present season to pay down future contracts. We can do this as a percentage (ex: 50% of present season).  I would propose these would be off backend of deals (last year of contracts only to prevent arbitration players getting tagged).

competitive balance picks

It could be structured simular to real life.  Perhaps based on the Free Agent contract value.    ( AAV or Total value)  1st tier (Comp A)  2nd tier (Comp B)

The only exception for releasing players should be a death clause. Not sure why I am still paying Tyler Skaggs 12 million for the next four seasons.

Not against something like this will discuss and might propose a rule see what rest of league thinks.

1) some sort of pitching limit can be considered seeing as a few have expressed interest so will see if we put a rule propsal.

2) I can understand the desire to change postion structure but same time unless there is strong support by others I do not want to open up this for change. We are mid way into FA and a lot of new teams joined with understanding of current roster set up.

Personally a postion change in any sense is as big a rule change as you can make given how it drastically impacts scoring and player value so again would need a lot of people to voice their issues to consider this.

3) Good suggestion but we have something slightly different in mind and in the works. Quick idea is to potentially allow teams to exceed cap (with penalities and restrictions). Hoping to post this proposal shortly havent had time to fully get the details sorted yet and this would also be a large potential change so want to lay it out properly.
