Gents, it's time to get your team(s) ready for the upcoming 12 week regular season.
The NHL and FNHL start January 13, 2021.
Rosters need to be under or equal to 30 active/reserve players
MiLR needs to be below or equal to the maximum of 30 prospects.
Salary Cap ceiling and floor will be in effect January 13th.
3 IR spots have been created for this season given COVID impacts, likely more injuries in a shortened unusual season schedule.
5 matchups per week to get us a 60 game regular season over 12 weeks.
Division re-alignment for this COVID shortened season to mirror the NHL.
PLAYOFFS Format TBC: we either leave it as is OR mirror NHL which is Division focused (top 4 teams per Division make playoffs).

I think we should follow the NHL’s Playoff format just to be consistent with realignment too.
-
I say follow the NHL's covid playoff format. Keep it consistent and it will be easier on everyone imo.
-
I expect teams with an overflowing MiLR to get busy making trades to get under the 30 prospect max. :judge:
-
Maybe we should name our divisions like the NHL.
I say pick the most tenured owner in each division as the go to name.
Jonathan's North Division
Blkhwkfn's West Division
PigsRule's Central Division
JackDnaiel's East Division
Anyone catch the "upset" in the WJC.
I bet the Canadians didn't see that one coming.

Well, if those veterans want to pay into the prize pool to get naming rights then for sure. LOL
Also, any donation to PPG's beer fund would be welcome  :beer:

With 4 days until the start of the 20/21 FNHL season, there's lots of teams with oversized MiLRs and some over cap. Time to get a move on gents!
Also, the NHL has already throw a few knuckleballin' pucks our way with
* Delay of the NHL Dallas Stars season due to COVID-outbreak
* NHL New Jersey Devils veteran goalie Corey Crawford retiring after just signing a 2yr deal!!???
Likely a few more surprises to come!
This is going to be a VERY INTERESTING season!
I'm ready for all of it! :taco:
-
The playoff format should match the NHL's IMO. 4 teams per division. 1v4 2v3 in Rd1.
-
Are we to post moves here or on Fantrax?

Post moves on Fantrax. :judge::toast:

The speed of games has picked up game over game. The hitting is almost like it's the playoffs.
-
Tempo of games definitely up! The speed is back. The COVID season format seems to have more hitting because of the playoff like feel to the schedule.
-
So 12 weeks of game play (regular season), are we having the playoffs start April 6th
