Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Hawks b/o Filatov
« on: January 27, 2013, 12:03:09 AM »
Chicago will b/o the contract of NHL reject Nikita Filatov, $0.2m (2013-2014).
Another case of the Colmbus Blue Jckets ruining a kid's career! LOL  :o
Gotta clean house to bring in some new lively talent that can actually help out.

We'll do the b/o all this year.
0.2 (2012-13).

He's apparently close to being done for the season with back problems. Gone up to 3 mths.  >:(  As if we had extra defencemen to spare. This stinks like downtown Philly!

It's pocket change but we'll ask for it anyway.  :disco:

Hjalmarsson signed with my boys in Philly.
He was one of our b/o players during the offseason.
We'd like to get the 0.2m rebate.

Thanks guys!

Those icons don't work.  :DL:
In fact none of them do.
I tried commish!

Down to business!
Chicago announces a blockbuster deal to acquire a key piece to rebuild the Blackhawks franchise around. We're looking to stay busy during this rebuilding year!

Chicago acquires
Goalie Carey Price, $5.9m (2013-2014)
Defence Paul Martin, $5.0m (2013-2014)
Round 3 - 2013 from Oilers

Edmonton receives
G - Jack Campbell (2010: 1/11 - 0 Games)
Center Jonathan Toews, $6.3m (2014-2015)
D - Cameron Gaunce (2008: 2/50 - 11 Games)
Center Marty Reasoner, $0.9m (2012-2013)
Center Brian Boyle, $5.4m (2013-2014)
Goalie Andrew Raycroft, $0.4m (2013-2014)

We're sending the Oil players and positions they need and want and a bluechip goaltending prospect in Campbell. Gaunce is another great prospect. Moving Raycroft was to clear room and he might or might not return to the NHL but he's young enough to hold in case he makes a comeback.

Tough to part with Toews and Jack but you have to pay the piper if you wanna dance!

We are bringing Salak into the Hawks organization where he belongs. He should get a back up gig soon and is the key to this deal for my team. In fact he would've been Crawford's back up last year if not for Emery. I also prefer Kulemin over Dupuis in the longrun and add a draft pick.

To CHI
G - Alexander Salak (2009: FA signing - 2 Games)
Nikolai Kulemin, $4.9m (2014-2015)
Brent Johnson, $1.1m (2012-2013)
Round 4 - 2013 (FLA)

To FLA
Pascal Dupuis, $2.8m (2013-2014)
C - Brandon Pirri (2009: 2/59 - 6 Games)

Thanks Florida. My bad for taking some extra time to get back to you.

jan19-13: added trade icon.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Cutting Minor Leaguer C. Cohen
« on: January 18, 2013, 11:22:43 PM »
Hawks say bye bye to this minor leaguer.
If you want to play in the big leagues you got to show some fierce competitiveness kid. Showing up ain't good enough in this organization.

D - Colby Cohen (2007: 2/45 - 3 Games)

Hawks are now within the 13 player limit. As if it were ever in doubt we could trim down our MiLR. Some of the other kids better watch out or we'll drop the axe on them too. LOL

  • Daddy: If i have 10 top level AA prospects each in the top 10 of the franchise vs one middle of the road pitcher like Cal Quantrill (or pick a guy) which one of those two packages are more valuable?

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    Yesterday at 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.

  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.

  • Daddy: There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.

  • Daddy: Until someone starts a minor league baseball fantasy game or option. Maybe we can petition fantrax? I just dont think they will care for that.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    Yesterday at 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
    Yesterday at 06:02:39 PM
  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
