Ottawa management announce another trade. This time with the Vancouver Canucks. Traded to VAN C Derick Brassard, $5.5m (2014-2018) age 27 (turns 28 September 2015) Traded to OTT RW Marian Hossa, $5.3m (2010-2018) age 36 (turns 37 January 2016) Sens management feel this is a straight forward trade where we are adding a wily veteran winger in Hossa and dealing a young veteran Center in Brassard. Salaries are comparable. We believe scoring offsets the age difference. Vancouver owner Tarheels55 to confirm.

Trade canceled.
Ottawa management have come to terms on a trade with the Colorado Avalanche.
Traded to Avalanche D Dan Boyle, $4.7m (2013-2016)
Traded to Senators C Nick Bjugstad, $2.8m (2014-2017)
Dan Boyle will qualify for an extension with a hometown discount worth $3.9 Million, a very cap friendly salary for an All-star defenseman in the twilight of his career. We acquire a young player who ended the season on the IR after undergoing back surgery. Never a phrase management wants to hear however Bjugstad is worth the risk.
Negotiations were quick and aggressive. We wish Boyle well with his new franchise.
SlackJack and the Avalanche to confirm.

Los Angeles management is pleased to announce a trade with the Arizona Coyotes that we believe to be equitable for both franchises.
Traded to Arizona C John Tavares, $6.0m (2011-2015) Note: Tavares is looking for a new contract worth $8.9m (2015-2020) as the Top rated Center in Franchise NHL.
Traded to Los Angeles D Mark Giordano, $2.4m (2013-2016) G Peter Budaj, $0.5m (2014-2016)
We approached the Coyotes with the opportunity to acquire the Top ranked Center in the league and informed them of Tavares' expected raise. We feel that he can be a centerpiece for any team given he's only 24 years old and surrounded by talented young players in the NHL. In return we asked for Giordano who is older, comes with a cheap cap hit but only has 1 year left on that contract before he gets a sizable raise. Budaj was tossed in by Arizona.
Simple, straight forward deal.
Thank you Blkhwkfn! GO Hawks!

Shipped to SHARKSNick Leddy, $2.5m (2012-2015) G - Christopher Gibson (2011: 2/49 - 0 Games) G - Daniel Altshuller (2012: 3/69 - 0 Games) Shipped to KINGSMatt Irwin, $2.6m (2014-2017) C - Marko Dano (2013: 1/27 - 17 Games) GP updated Mar6'15 Round 1 - 2015 (from ; originally ) Los Angeles management is parting ways with Nick Leddy due to his expected contract extension which we could have found room for but felt the acquisition of a young prospect such as Dano warranted the move and would further allow us the flexibility to pursue other possible deals to improve our roster for the 2015-16 season. Irwin, though less consistent and prone to stretches in the pressbox is nevertheless a serviceable option on defense. By trading young Goaltenders there is always a risk they can come back to haunt you when they mature but that was the price to complete this trade with the Sharks. San Jose to confirm. - DD edit correction to shipped to and from teams were reversed.
