Title: Kings and Flyers Trade
Post by: dickiedunn on February 03, 2017, 02:34:51 PM
Los Angeles management is pleased to announce a trade with the Flyers. Kings acquire some proven talent to support our post-season quest to defend our title. Flyers requested All-Star Franchise caliber player Jakub Voracek. We take on some additional salary but feel it is worth the extra expense.

Dealt to Los Angeles
RW James Neal, $6.7m (2014-2018)
W Marian Gaborik, $0.5m (2016-2018)
Cap count: 7.2m

Traded to Philadelphia
W Jackub Voracek, $5.9m (2015-2019)
Cap count: 5.9m
Cap savings: 1.3m while also qualifying for a Franchise Player discount!

We wish Jakub a fond return to Philadelphia.
Flyers to confirm acceptance of this trade.

:iatp: Philly confirms. Saving money is important in a cap driven reality. This was a trade we made to pave the way for another deal with Montreal. He's also signed thru 2019 for what will be a discounted cap hit once we make him a Franchise Player. :taco:

Happy to bring home Voracek!

:iatp: Kings get more scoring out of this deal but I see where the Flyers were going with this.
