This trade commenced with an inquiry about the availability of Tarasenko.
TO FLAMES
RW Vladimir Tarasenko, $2.0m (2014-2017)
D Jaccob Slavin, $0.2m (2015-2017)
D Klas Dahlbeck, $0.5m (2015-2018-EL)
G Justin Peters, $0.2m (2016-2018)
TO KINGS
LW Milan Lucic, $5.9m (2013-2017)
RW, C Elias Lindholm, $2.8m (2016-2019)
He has been a mainstay in Los Angeles and while he was going to be resigned we received enough of an incentive to trade him along with extra Defencemen from our roster for two talented forwards we are confident will help us to a strong finish in the second half of the season after which we will determine how we will handle Milan Lucic's contract demands.
This is the first trade between our teams since new owner DToxFan acquired the Flames. Good negotiations, DToxFan.

I'm not on the trade committee, but good trade! Dtox gets some foundation pieces to build with. The Kings get some punch for the playoffs!
Also, thank god because believe it or not i was trying to find a way to get Lucic on one of the 3 franchises.

Calgary accepts the terms of this trade with our Pacific Division counterpart. Vladimir Tarasenko is the type of player Calgary wants to build around. We will begin contract negotiations on an extension immediately. The defence will benefit from the addition of youngsters Slavin and Dahlbeck. Peters is simply a nice to have addition and inexpensive to buyout if needed. Brute players such as Lucic are useful for our building needs but seldom a cornerstone piece in our plan. The costliest loss here is Lindholm. Good working with you, Dickie Dunn.

Perhaps one of the main assets we receive in this trade is $5.8 million in cap relief. That will come in handy in our contract negotiations with Tarasenko's agent.

My door is always open.
Whether I'm in is a whole different story.
I am certain we would have been able to work out a reasonable trade, Blkhwkfn.
