Title: SFG - WAS Trade 3-6 2020
Post by: EastCoastGonzo on March 06, 2020, 04:56:48 PM
:SF: trades

Prospects
OF Nick Heath
P Sam Hentges
OF Jodd Carter

:WAS: trades

OF   Aristides Aquino
500k

Now I don't think Aquino is going to go home run happy again, so I think his projections are a little inflated. But it's looking like my other OF options might not actually make the OD roster and Castellanos is the only long-term OF I can rely on on my roster, so I'd rather make a deal now on a little bit of a gamble than find myself in July with only serviceable OF. Hentges may make it to the show this year but I've shored up my bullpen already so he's kind of a depth piece being moved. I like the OFs but they aren't going to help me this year when I really need it.

Washington agrees to trade. I add some debth to my minors for a player i dont see being a key part of my team. I got debth at rf so this wont hurt me at all

I don’t disagree with the assessment, that Aquino isn’t likely to hit bombs at the pace he did when he came up last year, but he had way too much upside to be dealt for 3 extra pieces. Heath is a 26 year old journeyman minor leaguer with no upside. Carter played in A+ for the 4th consecutive year last year, after seeing some AA time in 2018, so he is obviously not part of the Indians plans and Hentges offers a tiny bit of upside, mostly because he’s 6’8”, but not nearly enough for a player with the upside of Aquino.
