Hi folks,
It's been a few weeks since we had a change in leadership in WCB2, and with the trade deadline in our rearview mirror, I wanted to chat about two things: playoffs (cue Jim Mora meme!) and the offseason.
For the playoffs, there is no change to the structure that was used in previous recent seasons. We've got 7 teams that are over .500 right now, led by the Angels @RyanJames5 and the Mets @zephyr22 . There is still a chance of a little shuffling at the bottom of the playoff structure, about half of the teams are likely looking at the offseason and 2024.
We still have two open teams - Cubs and Padres - with one interested owner @Bigdon . Not sure how this will settle out but I would like to get those teams filled before the end of this season, so if you know of anyone who might be interested, please PM me.
There are a couple of ideas for league alterations that I think we could discuss this offseason. Foremost on my mind is the expansion of the minor league roster, from 20 to a considerably larger number (40? 50? more?) but that can wait for the offseason. Start thinking of ideas of your own and how they might improve both competitiveness and activity in WCB2.
