Mika Zibanejad, $4.9m (2016-2019) will be designated a Franchise Player for Montreal once our trade with Buffalo is approved. Mike was drafted 7th overall by us in the 2011 FNHL Entry Draft.

Coughing up an arm and a leg for my goalie of the future but we got him.
Demko will be an amazing goalie for years to come. Everything else is gravy as they say. Demko is one of only two goalie prospects I'd offer up this kind of package for. Really happy to land him. Thanks for the easy going talks Mordecai.

Montreal agrees to this trade with Buffalo. We are selling core assets (some might call it mortgaging the future) by trading a bluechip prospect in Thatcher Demko but the return warrants the move. Our organization is addressing needs in all areas by making this deal and we get a respected prospect netminder in return. Good doing business with you Burkes Boys.

We're eating cap here by taking Streit. We have room to absorb the nearly $5million cap hit on the final yr of his contract. We get Erne and a late pick as compensation which helps us build our team. Noesen and Lovejoy weren't in our plans so we wish them well in Ottawa. Sens to review.

Canadiens confirm this deal with Florida. We're getting the #1 defender we asked for in Shea Weber and saving cap with the trade and the hometown discount we'll receive when we tag Weber. Shea's going to be the centerpiece of our franchise. Thanks for making this happen PR.
