Very few player I would trade Flowers for. Jay Bruce is one but, believe it or not, Dan won't budge. Andre Ethier is another. Love him as a player and I need OF. I get a 2nd Rd pick to boot.

The Brewers confirm.

Andre is a terrific OF, but the Brewers had become too top heavy and needed to re-distribute resources more evenly to the other open starting positions.  We're very happy with the newly acquired players, as Danks should help towards solidifying what was once a barren starting rotation, and Flowers becomes the catcher of the future (as well as becoming the only C on our roster).

Danks is the forgotten gem of this deal.  Interesting salary dump for the Brewers, but they have more money available in February now.
