C Maldonado, Martin, $0.5m (2021)

:PHI: sends

RP Anderson, Nick, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Maldonado was 3rd on the depth chart and not likely to see much playing time behind Grandal and Alfaro.  Anderson is a bullpen upgrade for us, assuming he can keep pace with last year's performance.

Phillies agree. We needed a backup C pretty bad. Hopefully he doesn’t have to play that much but I really needed the depth.
