Play-off Picture (1Wk Left in Regular Season)

With only 1 wk left in the Franchise NHL regular season here are the standings
* last 2 play-off spots up for grabs in the West betw
* 3 play-off spots available in the East for these 6 teams to claim
* Presidents Trophy is pretty much a lock for
barring a 3-way tie betw
and requiring a scoring meltdown by
whereby 1 of the other 2 teams scores more than 120pts while
scores 0 (unlikely)
* only 2 teams clinched their Division

another note to all teams...
there are 2 teams either in a playoff spot or competing for one with 1 wk remaining that did not believe their roster could compete this season namely
+
. both teams have been competitive all season
(aside from
benching their roster for 2 consecutive wks to start the yr)
.
the point is, given this is a deep 30-team league the fact your roster doesn't feature an all-star line-up doesn't mean you can't compete and won't make the play-offs... i can't emphasize that pt enough. but if ppl prefer to be in a fantasy pool that fields all-star line-ups... Franchise NHL is likely not for you.
also note, cellar dwelling teams from 2011-12
were rebuilt in a few months to become competitive.
of course luck plays a big role in everyone's season ... ask Jonathan who's
probably had one of the tougher schedules and seemed to matchup against teams that had their best Points For weeks against his caps yet had one of the higher scoring teams in FNHL.
bottomline
, nothing's a given in this 30-team league.

Man am I glad my Hawks locked up a playoff spot because my army has turned into a band of bedwetting, pants pissing thumbsuckers who can't seem to put points on the big board for me! WTF!
So far this week the Pens have been slapping my Hawks around and having their way with us like the crazy drunk spring break chick! LOL

They trade, about as often as real teams do. For people that love year round trading, being in one league, one sport, its going to be difficult.

If a team has 2 QB1s another team has none. If a team in baseball has 2 1B it doesn't leave a team without one.

And that's why I haven't traded Carr yet. Someone doesn't have a QB or thinks they'll get one in FA/draft and might be left wanting.

@Alpha if a team in MLB LIVE has two starting 1Bs then there is also a team without one.

@jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe. I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade. Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for. I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

Football is just harder. You can build a team and 3 years later its irrelevant due to injury, retirement, roster turnover.

Cris, there is a reason that you are a good owner, bc you can discern a value deal vs. a BS deal. Not all owners are that savvy. They will eventually leave...

Nope, 32-team contract league.
Today

I don't have Holiday. Just used him as an example since he was the #1 prospect

@Alpha I do make trades. I am just not giving up the entire farm to land a guy I can get out of the FA pool

Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.

Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).
